As part of efforts to strengthen institutional reforms and ensure effective implementation of Katsina State’s Ten-Year Inclusive Economic Development Policy (2024–2034), the Executive Governor of the State, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, approved a high-level capacity-building workshop for newly appointed Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, Chief Executive Officers, and Heads of Parastatals and Agencies.
The two-day workshop, organized by the Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development (SCDDD) in collaboration with the Katsina State Government, was held from 22nd –23rd December 2025 at the Bello Kofar Bai Hall, Katsina State Secretariat, with the theme, “Strategic Management for Public Sector Excellence
The engagement focused on enhancing strategic leadership, promoting inter-ministerial collaboration, strengthening fiscal discipline and procurement integrity, improving monitoring and evaluation systems, and leveraging ICT and emerging technologies to drive efficient and transparent service delivery. Priority sectors discussed included security, agriculture, infrastructure development, human capital development, youth engagement, research, etc.
At the end of the workshop, participants adopted The Katsina Declaration 2025, reaffirming their collective commitment to attitudinal change, accountability, meritocracy, institutional strengthening, and effective implementation of government policies.
The workshop marked another significant milestone in SCDDD’s partnership with subnational governments to build resilient institutions and advance good governance through knowledge-driven and impact-oriented capacity enhancement initiatives.
