Council of the Wise

With support from the MacArthur Foundation and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), the Centre established a Council of the Wise, a panel of eminent Nigerians, drawn from six geo-political zones, chaired by retired Chief Justice of Nigeria, Muhammed Lawal Uwais. The Council's activities promoted and facilitated consensus-building around the key-drivers of violence in elections and promoted the art of advocacy with critical stakeholders such as former Heads of State, Traditional and Community leaders, Religious leaders, Media and advocacy workshops with the youths, to facilitate violence-free elections in 2015 in Nigeria.
